21 Nursing Home Staffers Face Criminal Elder Abuse Charges

Reuters is reporting that 21 current and former employees at Alzheimer’s Care of Commerce in Georgia are facing over 70 criminal charges for abuse.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation released a statement complaining of “inhumane and undignified conditions” at the nursing home including striking and throwing water at residents, double diapering to avoid having to change diapers as often, and restraining residents with bed sheets.

11 arrests have already been made, but authorities are still searching for the other suspects including owner Donna Wright.
